@DDRJake Do you mean that it's addition to the game is unlikely or that it'd be down to RNG? If it's the former, can you break down why for me?
What sort of cost do you think would be appropriate to such an action?
I ask because if it's unlikely to be added to the game, I might mod it in and it'd be interesting to hear your thoughts.

Is this historical? I don't recall too many cases of this sort during this period...most regicides happen after a monarch is deposed (which means "killed" in eu terms), as part of a coup (Gustav III of Sweden, Paul of Russia) or by the hands of religious zealots (Henry III and Henry IV of France). It seems monarchs were quite well-protected from foreign assassins during this period...or simply no one bothered taking such a risk.
So yeah, if you intend to do it - and given the utmost importance of a monarch and his stats in this game - it should probably cost everything and still might have a significant chance of failure.

It was in 1.16 for a couple of days as an event triggered by a high level spy network and it was awful.

This was already a thing in the early stages of 1.16. Many people complained due to losing their beloved 6/6/6. So no.

Restrict it to single player?
