I've posted this over on steam but after a little thought i think this may be a more appropriate place to get some assistance.

Assets Removed from Workshop
I have an issue with an error that keeps popping up that stops me playing my save, i've found out which assets they are and need some guidance in sorting them out.

The author of the files removed the originals and repacked them into a packages, i've downloaded the new packages and recreated the original folders and placed them back where they we're but he's renamed them, so i've renamed them back to what they we're named originally but they must have an identifier written inside the files, is there a tool i can use to rewrite them back to the original names ?

I've contacted the author by leaving comments on the repackaged items comment section requesting the original files but i'm not sure how long it's going to be before he's back online, just hoping i can try fixing myself in the mean time ?

I had the issue with a popup error (listed below) popping up ever second that was stopping me play, so i saved the game with the assets missing and closed Skylines relaunched the game and my save and now the popup errors have gone, whether this causes any damage to my save remains to be seen but i hope this resolution helps someone else.

Error message in popup:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object [System.NullReferenceException]

Details:
No details

It's the restaurant tables by Amonkey5, isn't it? I had the same issue.

Thankfully I make bi-weekly backups of my workshop folder, so I could place most of them back. But it's really, really annoying when creators do that. I've lost several cities as a result, which is why I now make backups of all workshop content I have installed.

I was also wondering what happened to the DC Tower asset, which no longer exists when I search for it on the Workshop, now my older saves produces an error due to the said asset being plopped at the downtown areas.

Any way to get that unique building asset back? The building looks nice on my city and there are no assets that look similar to it.

If you have the SteamID, I can see if I have a copy of it in my backups. The Loading Screen Log should list it when you load the save from before it was removed.

Here is the exact URL to the asset page, includes the Workshop ID of the asset.

Man, I kinda dislike this thing where authors can just delete their stuff without notice, such as Mark-a-Route for example.

Plus some of them did not get reuploaded or taken over by others, like with assets.

Found it! It was in the backup for my old Lunar city. Here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10pxe2Mf_Qtxf8uTUairhijmvnD7S5tjl
(Just drop the folder in %localappdata%\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Assets )

Yea, I hate it when that happens. It's why I make backups, I've lost too many cities as a result of creators removing content from the workshop.

Looks like other old saves of mine complains of missing assets that might "break the save" according to Loading Screen Mod, which when I enter their item IDs to the Workshop, it says the assets has been deleted by the author.

Those two shouldn't break your saves, they're a recycling centre and a church. Should just leave an empty piece of grass. (maybe a nullreference error each, but those go away after the first time)

I think I may need the church, as I discovered from screenshots that many old saves of mine uses this asset, not only one city.

I really need to make a backup copy of my entire Workshop folder in case assets or even mods get deleted without notice, like with Mark-a-Route as an example.
