Would anyone be against me using some of your colonial events file and adding it as an option for my new 1486 scenario that I am working on? It's awesome, exactly what I want. Thanks. :D

Bocaj,

I am almost done a complete edit of the file for the Americas. There's a lot wrong with the original file that it not immediately appparent. In about two weeks it will be part of the next beta. But the non-Americas section would still be in the old, bug-ridden style.

Sounds good. I'll have to check it out once it comes out.

Another thing, I haven't been through the entire file (it's massive!), would you happen to know if there would be any major clashes with a vanilla version (i.e. are there nation specific events for majors such as in Aberration Eire or something like that)? I see that different nations are released, they won't have shields and stuff, but that will be ok.

The file releases several existing tags from vanilla, including Louisiana, Quebec, Brasil and Colombia. Then it has the User Defined nations for places like Texas, California, Recife etc. The adjusted file also acknowledges several Aberration elements, such as Maya and Dichali. Mostly this will be irrelevant, but some triggerings will need to be adjusted by you manually.

Finally, the province.csv has many change in AB, especially to where all the gold is. There are several new gold provinces in the South American atlantic side that begin undiscovered. They will be starting the game at a level of 0 and attain their gold once the mines are discovered, which happens through events in the file based on ownership of those provinces. So, unless you remove these events, the coffee plantations of Mato Grosso will suddenly get mines and huge production incomes. That is, unless the game ignore the event because the Goods values are the wrong ones. Either way, you will want to manually edit these out to be safe.
