As I have recently upgraded my internet conn to 1500/256kbps I should be able to host at least 6 players from Australia and nearby.

Gametime will be 8pm EST on a Tuesday night, pls try and be in vnet at least 5 mins in advance. I would like to get a few more players yet, possibly some Americans or Europeans might join though any people from our area should get preference. :)

We need in order of importance

France
Spain
Austria
England
Ottomans
Russia

I would like to play France but thats not in concrete :)

You should probably be careful not to start off with too many players before you have tested exactly how good your new connection is for hosting.

Better to start up with 5 or so people, and then expand the roster if the game runs smooth enough.

So I am sounding out interest for playing perhaps 1 night a week about 8pm to 11pm EST or somesuch. At this stage only people from my area should apply as I think distance could kill off any game with lag.

Getting 6 players might be the tough bit, but I'd be interested. I can host as well, my PC's pretty ub3r.

Some suggestions if we can get this off the ground:
Edits to be kept to a minimum. No extra cultures or other crap.
Countries to be AI if player doesn't turn up or arrange sub. No compensation, no delays, no arguments.
Scenario - Aberration, for a bit of fun.
 
I agree with pretty much all of that and yah maybe 5-6 is a tad ambitious we'll just have to wait and see. I havent played Aberration before waht exactly is it? :)

It's a mod, basically a fantasy 'what-if' scenario if events in history had played out differently. Major powers include Byzantium, Scotland, the Union of Kalmar, Granada, Bavaria, Savoy, Brittany, oh hell about ten more too. It's pretty developed, there are more events for the first couple of hundred years than the last couple of hundred, but it's stable and MP tested.

sounds interesting, lets wait for some more guys to drop by, I pmed a few aussies but I dont know many on the forums :)

havent got a day in mind yet, I was thinking for a night during the week as I have a HOI2 game for Sat and Sun nights every week. :)

Oh hi, well of course you can join!

That makes 4 now, France, Spain, England and Austria then :) I can start this Friday if thats ok with the rest of you :) I think for a time we should aim for 8pm EST, dunno what that is in Malaysia you might need to check. :)

Can we do Thursday instead? I work a lot of *early* Saturday mornings, so Thursday would be easier for me...

Thursdays dont really work for me coz I have early fridays. What about Tuesday nights?

Hi bumblebee,

actually im studying in melbourne :) . So what time is 8est in melbourne?
 
Tuesday nights would be fine by me... probably even better than Thursdays.
 
Tuesdays work well here too! :)

EST is Melbourne time so all u need to remember is 8pm. :) I'll just edit the day and time into the first post, hopefully it works for GK as well :)

Hmm, you need to be patched up to 1.08, and you need to have the latest beta patch installed.

Make sure you're not behind a firewall - or if you are, it's configured to allow EU2 through (this can be very tricky to do so if you're not familiar with internet gaming in general).

Then, it's just a matter of running EU2, and being in V-Net at the right time.
