This AAR will focus on the reconstruction of the Austro-Hungarian empire. From humble beginnings to a world power.
Things started off with a demand from Hitler to secede our nation to the Germans. This of course was out of the question, as Austria had greater plans for herself. Immediatly upon the arrival of the new year, two Austrian reserve divisions were called up, the cavalry division was disbanded (The government chose to seek a mechanised fighting force over a primitive cavalry force)and two divisions guarding the border with Germany were moved to the Yugoslav border.
The increasing tension between the two nations was intensified when Parliament allowed the construction of a fortified line along the Yugoslavian border. Italy and Germany, and Hungary praised this act, while the rest of the world was shaken. On april 5th, the arrival of the first Skoda 30mm Infantry Guns added more firepower to the line, along with 2 more divisions. Meanwhile, the parliament officially allowed the first armoured division. Clearly a sign of Austria's soon to come military might!
Skoda's plants by the end of April were working at full speed, churning out new more improved artillery pieces at a fast pace. The Austrian people were now fully behind their army, as it pursues its destiny. A second armoured diviosion, followed by a mechanised cavalry division, were to make up the Fast Responce Corp, which would spearhead an assualt against Yugoslavia.
The time had come, the final decision on Anschluss.
4 options were given:
Bow to German Pressure
Join the Axis
Unite once more with the Hungarian people for a greater cause
Resist anschluss
Along with Mr Horthy, we began uniting Hungary and Austria once more. Austrian troops were forced to thin out, but then again, so were the yugoslavs, making it much easier to attack.
The tentative date for the attack on Yugoslavia: May 1st 1938

Operation: Phoenix
May 1st 1938
The Battle began with 9 Austrian divisions pouring across the northern border into Ljublina. The one division put up a staunch resistance, but being pin downed by diversionary attacks from the Hungarian border made reinforcements impossible.
The fast response teams first test began. The elite troops began operations within Yugoslavia on the 5th, and suffered heavy casualties in urban combat at Sarajevo and was forced to pull back. Clearly the mecanised infantry was not ready for combat.
The main objective was the ports at Dubrovik and Split. This would be a key spot for the new Austro-Hungarian empire, as every power needs a navy to match. The Germans moved fast, sending two battleships to blockade the adriatic sea. The first test of unity was passed, Germany and Austria were truely allied once more. The enemy began building up sarajevo after the intial and costly attack. Parliament called for an emergancy conscription, and 4 militia divions rushed to the front to cover the regular armies advance into Sarajevo.
The war wasn't going Austria's way. The ports were still under Yugoslavian control, and the war was turning into a stalemate (aside from a half hearted counter attack into Hungary) However, our friends in Germany sent General Von Klucher and 7 divisions to aid in the assualt. This news greatly lifted the troops spirits, and they fought with new vigor.
The massive German response was stepped up, and 6 more divisions arrived. On June 26th, 1938 the commander at Sarajevo completely surrendered to the combined Austro-German attack. Yugoslavian lines were now faultering, and Austrian troops began advancing out of their miserable trenches.
On August 15th, 1938 the Fast Response Corp drove triumphantly through the streets of Belgrade, and it was certain that Austira has finally reclaimed its place as a world power.
Final Losses:
3,456 Killed//Missing Austrians
14,351 Wounded
4,348 Killed/Missing Yugoslavians
24,356 Wounded
German casualties "minimal" (Official word from German offices)

Finally, Austria had a coastline! Almost immediately the Santz Georg and Wien Cruisers entered production. They would be followed by two destroyer divisions. With annual improvements.
The 4 "emergency" divisions were disbanded, and the members were sent to training camps to begin operation as a regular army.
Most troops lay on the Czechoslovakian border at this time, and it was clear that an attack outright on Czechoslovakia was not feasable, as it would provoke an Allied attack, and Czech soldiers are way too powerful at this time.
Just five days after the Munich treaty, members of the communist party stormed the Czech parliament, and now, the Germans and Austrians had the perfect excuse for their attack.
The operation was a complete success, and Czech soldiers barely resisted. Finally the Austrians and Germans were in true control of the global scene once more.
Shock to both us and Germany, the Allies declared war. Clearly they have no respect for oder, and we will show them what it is. As a loyal ally, I immediatly made availible the fast response corp, and 4 infantry divisions.
Our old foe, Italy has yet to make up its mind on who will be the winning side of this war. Any moment we expect Mussolini to join us in the spoils of war.
When poland joined the axis, they were quickly overcome, and cscieyn, lwow, Prezemsyl came under Austrian administration.
Things began returning to normal, Italy entered the war, so Austrian troops were freed up and returned home, and began preparing the Austrian administered regions of Poland for the planned attack on the Bolshevik devils. The army was divided as follows:
Army Group A
Fastresponse Corp
General Alfred Hubicki
1.Schnelledivision
2.Schnelledivision
3.Schnelledivision
4.Schnelledivision
5.Schnelledivision
1.Panzerwagendivision

4.Infantriedivision
6.Infantriedivision
12.Infantriedivision
14.Infantriedivision

Meanwhile, on the African front, Italy was totally defeated. The Austrian government, recognising the need to test out the new navy, ordered an amphibious invasion throughout Libya and Egypt, comprising of 6 divisions. These plans were brought to a complete halt though, as Germany prematurely without axis consent declared war on the USSR and her puppets. The Fast Response Corp immediately moved out with the German soldiers at her side.
The Fast Response Corps first major victory was acheived on April 25th, when it rolled into Vinnytsa and fought a dug in Russian division, and ousted it and held off one counter attack. Plans for an invasion of Libya were pushed by 6 months. The Austrian army however certainly was not prepared for the ferocious Russian response, and the army was beaten badly, and retired from combat for the rest of the conflict.
After Romanian entry into the war, things quickly went downhill. Soviet commanders were stunned that Romania did this, and had to send soldiers off to fight Romania, and both sides broke through quicky. Russia surrendered, like planned, in 2 months.
Italy found the need to not be out done, and landed troops throughout Alergia in a stunning move. This was indeed a great Italian victory, and the invasion of Libya was moved up. 4 divisions landed in between South African and UK detachments of troops, cutting off 9 UK divisions supplies.
Meanwhile, 2 divions landed and took new overseas colonies at Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Palestine. The oil supply was now steady.
The Austrian Navy finally was rebuilt after scrapping the primitive pre-war models.
2 Battleships (Under Construction)
Radetzky (350 mm)
Viribus Unitus (350 mm)
2 Cruisers
Wien (Basic Cruiser)
Zenta (Basic Cruiser)
Other Elements
3 Basic Destroyer Divisions
6 Transport Divisions
Meanwhile, high command prepared an attack on Albania.
Intelligence reports state 1 Albanian division is in service right now, and our 11 divisions set to invade are going to overwhelm it within hours!

The first operational cooperation between Greek and Austrian troops was a total success. Greek toops moved to take South Albania to cut off a retreat, while 11 Austrian divisions moved into Tirana.
Tirana's oil supplies are secure, and parliament ofically moved the Austrian Navy to its new headquarters at Tirana.
Austrian Casualties - 35 killed/257 wounded
Greek Casualties - None
Albanian Casualties - 356 killed/600 wounded/Entire Army captured.

With the Soviets in check, and the Allies dormant, it was times to meet on the invasion of England. Both the Austrian and German governments agreed on a "Non Occupation" policy on the UK. Which would install a Fascist leader, and end the English participation in the war.
Before this could happen however, the British and French launched a combined landing at Normandy. The Germans foolishly left the coast on guarded and the allied forces moved un molested.
Austria was seriously considering an end to its participation in the war.
