The odds for a succesful spy actions are quite low (not to mention, that there are reports about the wrong calculation of it), but if I would have an option to "automate" an action, the game will be more interesting.

Example: Automate the "send spy" action for a specific country, until it's succesful (or simply until you deactivate it). This would simply mean, I don't need to remember the date, when I be able to do a diplomatic action again and repeat it until I totally forgot about it. This way I would be able to invest money constantly in spy actions for longer period and having so bigger chance for a succesful action.

In real-life, stealing blue-print is also a long-term action, not a single "order" from the presidend. Countries invest years and millions into intelligence actions until they are finaly succesful...

To be honest, I really rarely use any spy actions because the odds are very bad and in later game when the wars go "hot", I forget totally about it, although it would make the game more interesting...

I agree on the problems with the current espionage system - there was a good discussion on this a while back that came up with some suggestions - see here.
