AutoRun freezes when I select Install

Technical Problem

I have a technical problem that I need your help with please.

Game Version & Patch (incl. country)o not know, trying to do initial install

OS & build/SP: Windows XP Home Edition

Computer, CPU & speed: Dell 2600 P4 2.6 Mhz

RAM: 256mb

Free HDD space: 31.5GB

I read the stickies but I still have the following problem:
When I try to install using the autorun, it will freeze and I am unable to install.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Conflict between CD-rom drive and install shield, sounds like.
Try copying the CD to the HD and install from there.

I have a somewhat similar problem.

Installshield Wizard hangs up during the preparation for install as it can't read setup.inx file from the CD. I can't even copy that file to another folder on Hard disk either. The game CD itself is brand new with no scratches or dirt as I just brought it home from the store. That leaves me only thinking the file could be corrupted.

edit: My copy of the game is published by Vision Park if that matters.

edit2: I found the solution at another thread. Always use search first... o

Yup that version needs a fix for some CD-rom drives.
