Game forcing crash, overheating graphics card?

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Start and play game, no more than 10 minutes into mission to escort computer shuts down with no warning. No other game I have or program is causing resets, after looking at hardware monitor, game is forcing max load even when doing nothing on my pc. Radeon RX 480 here. Am worried if I continue, will damage my pc. Kickstarter backer here.

Steps to reproduce the issue
Start game, play first mission past intro tutorial. Dont even have to play, just leave mission running.

I have an RX480 over clocked and Im not having that issue. But did have the screen sort of lock up during the tutorial.

CPU could overheat as well - it did for me...

CPU heat and load is going up as well, but even being on the campaign/skirmish selection screen my gpu is going from 1 to 98% load while I am watching it. Temps were constantly climbing as well.

I'm having the same issue: can't get over the first mission, because the game is constantly crashing.
I'm running an Ryzen 7 1800x @3,9GHZ, 16 GB DDR4@2933 and a GTX 1060 6GB.
Logs show that the CPU is more or less sleeping (20-30% usage) while the GPU runs constantly at 100%!

I tried to set Windows Power Profile from Balanced to Energy Saving which halves my FPS in MWO - in BT it does nothing and still runs hot as hell.
Enabling my Driverside Energy Efficiency Option and set Texture Filtering to High in the Crimson Driver did a little tad but GPU is even in the Menu between the Mission running at 100% then, it becomes even hotter than in the Missions.
