Are there any? Do I need to do something to hear the battle sounds, i.e. settings, etc.?

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Under game options on the audio tab there should be a tick box for battle sounds. If there isn't then you need to update the game.
