One line summary of your issue
3 logos and FPS screen shown forever

What platform are you running the game on?

Steam

What operating system do you use?
Windows 7 x64
Which version of the game are you running?
not shown main menu at all, so I'am sorry...
What DLC do you have installed?
Flashpoint,
Urban Warfare,
Shadowhawk Pack

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Started Steam
Bought BT:Season pass
Steam installed it automatically
Ran game when ready...

Three logos (BT developers ad) ran, then FPS counter shown at upper-right corner and nothing else happened. Same as here:

So here is actual in game footage after all the logos. Nothing just the counter. If i minimize and bring it up the counter will be at 78 but here you can see its at 56.

Its rendering SOMETHING but what?

So, ... Today after I bought BattleTech (hereinafter referred to as "BT") Season pass from Steam same problem occurs. Just 3 cinematics (3 logos shown) and FPS counter. Nohing more, nothing less.

I had used Google and thats why I've tried to:

- delete folders Hare**** in
--- %APPDATA% / Local
--- %APPDATA% / LocalLow
--- %TEMP%

- rename AVProVideo.dll

- run Ccleaner

- delete BT keys in regedit

- install new (latest) nVidia drivers

- install new (latest) K-lite Megacodecs pack

- start game with ALT pressed // then changed resolution, windowed mode, and so on...

- rename Profiles.dat

- delete Profiles.dat

- BT folder rights retake by CMD / takeown ...

- run game as administrator

- Direct-X re-installation

after any change I made in Steam app. / BT -- file verification -- always successfully finished

NO MODs, HACKs or something like that EVER, just clean "Steam" install of an old game with brand new "datadisc" (added regullary today with Season Pass via Steam DLC)

...and after all this steps -- no change! After few hours I'm really p**ed off becouse of this BT Season "Shall-not" Pass thing I bought today. Any ideas? I just wanted to play BT today...
Have you tried verifying your files?
Yes

Steps to reproduce the issue
Open Steam app, run BT -- this described behavior reproduces everytime since today (since I've bought BT: Season pass via Steam)

Attach DxDiag (PC), System Info log (Mac), or run sudo lshw -html > specs.html and uploaded specs.html (Linux)

Attach Output Log
Windows: \Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\output_log.txt
Mac OS: Users >{name} > Library > Logs > Unity > Player.log
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Harebrained Schemes/BATTLETECH/Player.log

If the game crashed, please attach the crash file with the time stamp closest to the crash.
Windows: [Steam library folder]\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\DumpBox
For v.17 and beyond try here: C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH
OSX: Macintosh HD > Users > [username] > Library > Application Support > Steam > steamapps > common > BattleTech > DumpBox
Linux: [Steam library folder]/steamapps/common/BATTLETECH/DumpBox

If a save game was loaded at the start of the game session, upload it. Please make sure to upload the save game with the timestamp closest to when you loaded it.
Windows:
Steam: [Steam installation folder]\userdata[SteamID]\637090\remote\C0\SGS1
GOG: 'C:\Users\USER_ID\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications\50593543263669699\Storage\Shared\Files\C#\SGS#'
Vanilla:'C:\Users\USER_ID\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BattleTech\C#\SGS#'
OSX:
Steam: Macintosh HD > Users > [username] > Library > Application Support > Steam > userdata > [SteamID] > 637090 > remote > C#> SGS#
GOG: Macintosh HD > Users > [username] > Library > Application Support > GOG.com > Galaxy > Applications > 50593543263669699 > Storage > Shared > Files > C# > SGS#

This is another case of this problem:
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/battletech-after-the-unity-logo-the-screen-keeps-black-and-the-game-never-start.1243256/

Aside from only happening to nVidia users, we have yet to identify any common factor, especially why it is happening to a few users but not everyone. Please upload one dxdiag, output log, and use the free utility Speccy to make a list of running processes and attach that there too.

Note this problem is nothing to do with these lines:
Fallback handler could not load library D:/Steam/steamapps/common/BATTLETECH/BattleTech_Data/Mono/libc
Fallback handler could not load library D:/Steam/steamapps/common/BATTLETECH/BattleTech_Data/Mono/libc.dll
as they happen on every installation, working or not, so are clearly cosmetic errors.

Okay, dxdiag, output log and so on was recently uploaded. Aside of cosmetic errors... I find out two things that could matters, maybe:

First: I have two monitor setup

Second: I noticed that in nVidia Experience in games menu (there are more than 20 installed games) is BT optimalization error shown. Every other game - optimalized or not - shows either "OPTIMALIZE" or "OPTIMALIZED" ... but BT is showing "GAME VIDEO SETTINGS SHOULD NOT BE LOADED. TRY RUN THIS GAME. THIS SHOULD HELP" or something simmilar -- my native language isn't english, so it is not a literal translation of that error

UPDATE: after install 1.8 patch, nothing happened except FPS counter disappearance (Image 2.jpg). There was no change after files-validation. After fresh install of GPU drivers (& HD audiodrivers, &physics) still no change.
-> New update of Steam app. installed -- no change.
-> New K-Lite Mega codesc pack installed -- no change.
=> New output_log clipped.
=> running user services - clipped.
=> running system (core) services - clipped.
=> complete startup print-screened & clipped.

Today update: new LAV filters, running with AV disabled, AV running with "excluded locations" like <drive>:\Steam and <drive>:\Users\<profile>\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained... still no change

I fixed it!
I did this:
1. Remove LocalLow the Harebrained Schemes folder.
C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow
2. Remove from %temp% the Harebrained Schemes folder.
3. Launch the game and click like an idiot the screen until the logos dissapear lol

Good to hear! But are you sure you had this same exact problem?

Whilst that didn't work for me, it did get me to push forward another idea I had which was to create a new user account and see if it would run from there. Which it does. Kind of a pain, but it's a work around at least.

Now I'm going to see if I can figure out why the new profile works and my main one doesn't. The only real changes I've made to my main account from the default is to change the location where documents are stored away from the system partition. But that shouldn't affect anything.
I even tried importing the BT specific registry settings from my new profile into the new one as well as the files in the LocalLow profile folder and that didn't work either.
Not sure what else it could be conflicting with.

And again 1.6.2 works fine on my main Windows account.

SOLVED FPS COUNTER NEVER START BLACK SCREEN
ISSUE SOLVED!

This event occurs when you have Windows set to use a server proxy for LAN network BUT ONLY WITH blank (not filled) address of this proxy server. Unity crashes, Mono can work with it or vice versa, I'm not sure about this.

Working solution:

1. press Win+R, write "inetcpl.cpl ,4" without quotes and press enter
2. choose LAN settings (bottom right) or press Alt + L
3. in lower half of the screen you can see "Proxy server" -->
--> in case of THIS issue IS CHECKED Use proxy for LAN network
--> in case of THIS issue IS NOT FILLED the address box
4. for solving THIS issue uncheck the "Use a proxy for your LAN" and press OK
5. close all other opened windows & try to run a game

As you can see now, the fps counter (even Steam overlay FPS counter) drops for a few seconds while making successfully connection to a BT server
Mouse pointer disappear after approx. 3 seconds and "pre-game" video is launched with "press esc to skip" in upper left corner, so the game is starting ;)
