Hi

I recently downloaded BATTLETECH and started the campaign. On mission 2 I can choose either the supply convoy mission or the ammunition convoy mission. On both of them I fight some mechs, then meet a convoy that I am meant to protect. The convoy spawns fine (and sometimes I have another player turn), but when it gets to the allied turn, nothing happens. I can pan my camera around but the convoy doesn't move. Is the logic for the convoy broken? I've tried lots of different combinations for this - tried both missions, tried reaching the convoy in combat and out of combat, but it still gets stuck. Unfortunately this means I can't continue the game.

Move to convoy engagement zone
Keep playing until allied turn begins
Convoy doesn't move / Allied turn never ends

Are you keeping a guard mech right next to the convoy ? They will not move without a close escort.
Is this on a new M1 mac ? This was released after Battletech was finished and is incompatible with it .
 
I cannot keep a guard mech there - I can’t move during an allied turn at all. It doesn’t progress to my turn.
I’ve also tried positioning my mechs in different places to trigger the convoy spawn, but it still gets stuck on an allied turn.
 
Just to be clear - on an allied turn there is a spinning wheel like a loading wheel on the top left of the screen where it says “allied turn”. I suspect that the logic for convoy movement in this level is just not being accessed and the game is stuck trying to load a file that doesn’t have actionable data. Could it be a file corruption with my version of the game? I’ve not seen anyone else posting this error, but it’s an issue across two missions so it’s related to an allied unit movement logic, not a mission specific data issue.

I notice you replied NO to did you verify files ?
That is usually the first thing to try
 
If you are running a new MAC M1 then it's an ARM based processor and it does not conform to standard PC architecture. There are several games which aren't supported on the M1. Battletech happens to be one of them.
 
I also encountered this.
Battletech from GoG running on macOS 12.5 on a M1 Max. The rest of the game runs just fine.

For me it did work with a lot of patience. The allied moves take AGES (~3-5 minutes usually). I finished my mission over the course of 6 hours. I made a move, put the app in the background and did something else while checking every now and then if it was my turn again.

Since i play career and not campaign i will try and stay away from escort missions now.

How likely is it that this will get fixed? Are paradox not supporting this game anymore with new hardware? Trying to decide whether to wait it out or request a refund.
This game ceased development over 2 years ago:
So HBS (rather than Paradox) will not be releasing any more updates for it.

As far as the M1/M2 hardware goes, none of our games have yet been ported to that platform so they are unsupported hardware for our games, strictly speaking. I doubt even existing games will be, and games out of development certainly will not be.

We might be able to fix this in UBTP; My best hack right now would be to skip all this processing and have the escorted veets just make a beeline for the extraction point. I don't have an M1 so I can't test it. Please reach out to me on the BetterCombat/UBTP discord I'm not sure if I can link it here but you can find the information on Nexus.
