Battletech crashes at start-up

What platform are you running the game on?
Steam

What DLC do you have installed?
Flashpoint, Urban Warfare, Shadowhawk Pack, Heavy Metal

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When starting Battletech, before the standard intro screens appear, a box titled "BATTLETECH – Unity 2018.4.2f1_d6fb3630ea75" appears with a Battletech logo and red exclamation point. Then shortly after the the Microsoft crash reporter appears indicating that Battletech has crashed. [It has crashed every time I have tried this. Verifying files and uninstalling and reinstalling Battletech haev not resolved the issue.]

Start Battletech in Steam. [Note: Issue arose shortly after Windows 10 August update.]

Attach DxDiag (PC), System Info log (Mac), or run sudo lshw -html > specs.html and uploaded specs.html (Linux)

The crash is in the Intel video driver. This is because this game is not supported on Intel video hardware of any sort - they are not strong enough to run the game properly.

The game's published minimum hardware requirement is:

  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-2105 or AMD® Phenom™ II X3 720
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia® GeForce™ GTX 560 Ti or AMD® ATI Radeon™ HD 5870 (1 GB VRAM)

Unless you have access to a computer with supported hardware you can play this game on, I recommend you seek a refund for this purchase.
