the game will intermittently freeze/crash, eventually dumping to a BSOD for a machine check exception. sometimes it will play for hours without doing it, sometimes it will do it within minutes. always occurs during a mission. there does not appear to be an output log in my battletech data folder... there also doesnt appear to be a crash report generated, there is no dumpbox in the battletech folder...

verified files, clean reinstall, does not occur during any other games, have tried both full screen and windowed, have tried adjusting video settings up and down, have muted master sounds.
Have you tried verifying your files?
Yes

Steps to reproduce the issue

a BSOD for a machine check exception.
I'm afraid this is virtually certainly a hardware problem, although conceivably a driver issue.

Certainly undo any overclocking you have active, and run these Windows repairs:

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image
https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...er-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2698555/microsoft-net-framework-repair-tool-is-available

If none of those help, I fear it is time to contact what local Windows/computer support options you have. Have them check CPU, memory, and whether your PSU can supply enough power for the everything in your PC.

Good luck with all that!
