One line summary of your issue
Crashing mid-mission

What platform are you running the game on?
Steam

What operating system do you use?
Win 10 64 bit

Which version of the game are you running?
1.9.1-686R

What DLC do you have installed?
Flashpoint, Urban Warfare, Heavy Metal

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I recently purchased and installed the Heavy Metal pack after not playing for a year or so. After starting a new campaign, I got into the started coronation mission and am experiencing crashes right after engaging the enemy. Most recent time I was selecting targets in multi-target. Sometimes when firing weapons.

Each time either i get a frozen screen where the sound keeps playing and menu interaction sounds keep happening, or a crash to desktop with a Unity popup. Based on the logs I can't tell if it is a Unity problem or a Dx problem and wouldnt know what to do to fix either =)

Have you tried verifying your files?
Yes

Steps to reproduce the issue
Play very first intro mission. Engage combat with the enemy ... somewhere in turn 2 or 3 it crashes.

The crash is recorded as being in the Windows DirectX 11 module, and I see an nVidia issue in that dxdiag too. So let's try this:

- uninstall the current nVidia driver, and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install the latest (just came out today) from here:
- reboot again

Test with a new campaign or career, if you don't mind. Good luck!
