One line summary of your issue
Game constantly crashing along with PC overheating

What platform are you running the game on?
Steam

What operating system do you use?
Windows 11

Which version of the game are you running?
1.9.1-686R

What DLC do you have installed?
None

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
This game constantly crashes every approximately 20-30 minutes after starting the game. My PC also constantly heats up so much I can feel the keyboard burning. Most of the times the crash occurs during inter-system travel in-game. So far, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, lowered the graphics settings in game and in Nvidia GeForce. I've also set the screen refresh rate to 60 Hz on my PC and yet the game keeps hitting 120 FPS. There is no option to turn ON/OFF Vsync in game or on GeForce for this game.

Have you tried verifying your files?
Yes

Steps to reproduce the issue
Run the game

Attach DxDiag (PC), System Info log (Mac), or run sudo lshw -html > specs.html and uploaded specs.html (Linux)

There is no option to turn ON/OFF Vsync in game
Actually there is, in Settings-Video-Advanced. Scroll down to see the VSYNC option.

All the best!

What fps are you seeing in the game now? You may need to cap it to, say, 60 if it exceeds that.

But if you are getting overheating at 60, that's probably a hardware cooling problem.

The FPS is always above 90 FPS, usually hovering at 110-130 fps outside of missions. This is the only game giving me overheating trouble. When I play games like Persona 5 Royal, Crusader Kings III, Cyberpunk, etc. I'm not facing heating issues. I'm trying to limit FPS to 60, so I set the PC screen refresh rate to 60 Hz, but it's not making any difference in the game.

Hard to see why the game is running at 90 or more; with Vsync on and desktop at 60 it should never exceed that!

Let's check the actual temps;
Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install

The first picture is from before launching the game, the second one is about 10 minutes after launching the game. I think I found a fix for the fps limiting problem? When I opened Battletech Launcher exe file, there was an option called "Exclusive Fullscreen" mode in the display section which was unchecked. So I checked it and now the fps in game seems to be constantly below 60 FPS and the pc is not overheating like before.

Yay!
