One line summary of your issue
Game No Longer Loads Opening Video

What platform are you running the game on?

Steam

What operating system do you use?
Windows 10
Which version of the game are you running?
1.9
What DLC do you have installed?
Flashpoint,
Urban Warfare,
Heavy Metal

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I've been having trouble with hard crashes on and off and lately they have become a lot worse. Things that i have checked so far:

Memtest86
DDU to completely remove graphics drivers and reinstall
Updated all my drivers
Complete reinstall of Battletech including deleting all save and registry keys
Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool

I've tried having Nvidia geforce control panel control the graphics for the game and now it does nothing for customizing the game, neither has worked.

I recently deleted the mods folder that was created with the sample mod in it and that seems to have caused this new issue but i am unable to find a place to download it from again and a complete reinstall of the game doesn't create it anymore.
Have you tried verifying your files?
Yes

Steps to reproduce the issue
Launch Game for no video

Hard crashes will happen seemingly at random, sometimes during a mission, sometimes before a mission while looking at mechwarriros in the barracks or in the mech lab or looking at contracts. If i get through one mission it will always hard crash on the next mission. There is no crash report because the computer freezes and i need to turn off the power to reset.

Attach DxDiag (PC), System Info log (Mac), or run sudo lshw -html > specs.html and uploaded specs.html (Linux)

Attach Output Log
Windows: \Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\output_log.txt
Mac OS: Users >{name} > Library > Logs > Unity > Player.log
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Harebrained Schemes/BATTLETECH/Player.log

If the game crashed, please attach the crash file with the time stamp closest to the crash.
Windows: [Steam library folder]\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\DumpBox
For v.17 and beyond try here: C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH
OSX: Macintosh HD > Users > [username] > Library > Application Support > Steam > steamapps > common > BattleTech > DumpBox
Linux: [Steam library folder]/steamapps/common/BATTLETECH/DumpBox

If a save game was loaded at the start of the game session, upload it. Please make sure to upload the save game with the timestamp closest to when you loaded it.
Windows:
Steam: [Steam installation folder]\userdata[SteamID]\637090\remote\C0\SGS1
GOG: 'C:\Users\USER_ID\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications\50593543263669699\Storage\Shared\Files\C#\SGS#'
Vanilla:'C:\Users\USER_ID\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BattleTech\C#\SGS#'
OSX:
Steam: Macintosh HD > Users > [username] > Library > Application Support > Steam > userdata > [SteamID] > 637090 > remote > C#> SGS#
GOG: Macintosh HD > Users > [username] > Library > Application Support > GOG.com > Galaxy > Applications > 50593543263669699 > Storage > Shared > Files > C# > SGS#
Vanilla: Macintosh HD > Users > [username]> Library > Application Support > unity.Harebrained Schemes.BattleTech > C# > SGG#
Linux:
Steam: /home/.steam/steam/userdata/[steamID]/637090/remote/C#/SGS#
GOG: /home/[username]/.config/unity3d/Harebrained Schemes/BATTLETECH/remote/C#/SGS#/
Vanilla: /home/[username]/.config/unity3d/Harebrained Schemes/BATTLETECH/remote/C#/SGS#/

Please go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\ and delete the profiles.dat file .
Note it may be under Local, LocalLow or Roaming, depending.

When you relaunch the game a new mods folder will be generated. No need to down load it anywhere. Also, with the 1.9 update the sample mod has been removed. If you go back to the 1.8.1 update, then to the 1.9 update, delete the sample mod. It's no longer needed.

That worked for starting up the game, the hard crashes continue though. Can't play more than one mission at a time and sometimes not even that.

There's no crash in that log - was there one just before you attached it here?

If so, then your hard crash is coming from outside the game IMO. I see AppHangs in the dxdiag, but not LiveKernelEvents which I'd expect after a forced reboot like that.

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install

These are the temperatures you saw for yout CPU or GPU, is that right? Whichever one, what temps were the other one?

On my latest crash i actually got a BSOD and a dump file from windows but i don't know how to read it. I also have seen a few mentions of sound drivers so i tried disabling all sound devices except my headset but that still seems to lead to a crash

BSOD is bad and usually indicates a driver or hardwar eproblem. Did you note down the text on the screen?

Attach a new dxdiag please, as that will probably have some detail of BSOD.

And the Windows Event Viewer may also have some details in the few minutes leading up to the crash.

So i formatted windows to see if that would help and i'm back to hard crashes, but it finally just crashed and exited to windows i reran dxdiag and added the output.txt

No bluescreens in that dxdiag any more - you are not seeing them happen yourself either?

No crashes in that game log either, so it is still likely something outside the game doing this. I can't read Windows memory dumps (as up in post #11), @HBS_SpaceCollie is that something you can run with?

Do you know of any software for doing a Bette diagnosis on hardware? I haven't found anything using memtest or anything else I used, but I haven't been able to check the hard drive yet.

I'm not familiar with that term, I'm sorry, but I'm no hardware expert.
