One line summary of your issue
Infernos can cause game to become unplayable

What platform are you running the game on?
Steam

What operating system do you use?
Windows 10

Which version of the game are you running?
1.9.1-686R

What DLC do you have installed?
Flashpoint, Urban Warfare, Shadowhawk Pack, Heavy Metal

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I have been able to repeat this bug: Infernos add heat when they impact and after the victim unit's movement phase ends. If the 'mech is put into an overheat or shutdown state as a result of that second dose of heat, the game will not allow you to brace. The only way to end the turn is to fire your weapons at a target (usually generating more heat).

This would be bad enough on its own, but if your movement phase is used to break LOS with the enemy (you know, 'cause you're overheating like whoa), you now have no legitimate targets. The game cannot be interacted with meaningfully in this state and must be forced to quit by the Task Manager, losing all progress in the mission up to that point.

Not sure if the "you must fire weapons if you are subject to inferno heat" is an intentional haywire effect or not, but if so it needs to be re-evaluated.

Have you tried verifying your files?
No

Steps to reproduce the issue
Get a 'mech hot. Shoot it with a lot of infernos, Inferno Carriers are great for this. Move the unit that is now overheated from the infernos out of LOS and eat the 2nd wave of inferno heat. Behold, you now cannot do anything.

I am sorry this is happened to you, but I'm afraid it is almost certain there will be no more patches for this game.

Has anyone else reading this seen this problem?

I just encountered this same bug today. My mech got hit with infernos missiles and I moved it away from the enemies so it had no LOS. It then overheated and I couldn't do anything. Just a note that using the menu works so I could load a save I had luckily made just a couple of turns earlier.
