One line summary of your issue
Softlock on conclusion of "Bourbon & Battlemechs" flashpoint.

What platform are you running the game on?

GoG

What operating system do you use?
Linux (Ubuntu 19.10)
Which version of the game are you running?
1.8.1-640R
What DLC do you have installed?
Flashpoint,
Urban Warfare,
Shadowhawk Pack,
Heavy Metal

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
After completing the first mission in this flashpoint (blow up the bar), I was presented with Mason's offer to just pay him. I selected the option to refuse (as it's a fun fight, in my humble opinion), then realized I did not have a lance light enough ready for battle. So I selected the "I think I want to fight you the normal way" conversation option, was presented with the choice to pay again, took it.

The conversation completed, but then instead of getting the flashpoint reward, I got a little post-mission pop-up from Darius saying my mechwarriors needed training, and the screen stayed on the holo-table view instead of switching to the flashpoint rewards display. No input seems to get me out of this situation, I am just sitting there staring at the crew standing around a blank holo-table. The background music reverted to the watching-the-argo-orbit-a-planet music.

Being unable to reach any menu or achieve any interaction (the Battletech application's mouse pointer is visible and responsive, but there's nothing to click on and clicking/right-clicking does nothing), I quit the game with alt-F4, effectively killing the process.
Have you tried verifying your files?
No

Steps to reproduce the issue
Unknown, my complete experience is described above. I will restore from most recent save and attempt the same steps again, this post will be updated to report if the problem continues to occur or not.

The problem is reproducible. Steps to reproduce:

1) Load the save file (f08d235c-3f5c-406c-9217-e7fbaeb529d7...) attached to this thread.
2) Go to the contracts list. Select the flashpoint contract "Bourbon & Battlemechs".
3) Slide both sliders down to the far left, to get maximum Federated Suns reputation, and proceed into the contract.
4) Win the battle, including killing all turrets and both sets of opponents.
5) In the conversation that follows, tell Mason you won't give up your payday so he can get drunk, etc.
6) But then don't agree to use an "equivalent lance", and instead select to pay him what is is owed.

I'm going to do it again now, but I'm pretty sure that simply electing to pay him initially (rather than as a reconsideration after first deciding to fight) will work without errors as I've done that a few times in the past. I think I just found a rarely-used conversation path with a bug.

Attached: Easier reproduction save. This save file is in-mission, all hostiles eliminated, just blow up one more building to complete the contract. This eliminates steps 2-3 in the above reproduction guide (and makes step 4 trivial).

Also, I just completed the contract again and this time chose to pay him off immediately. As suspected, no bug is apparent when the conversation is completed this way.
