One line summary of your issue
Unable to move past Collect Salvage Screen

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
If you have a higher salvage rate set with the "ContractFloorSalvageBonus" value in the SimGameConstants.json file that causes priority salvage to exceed 7 items, you'll be unable to continue past that collect salvage screen.

It seems that any amount of priority salvage beyond the 7 visible slots will be impossible to choose. I've tried double-clicking, alt-clicking, keyboard shortcuts, dragging on different parts of the UI, etc. Worse, there is no menu available on this screen, so you can't exit the client gracefully. I had to Alt-F4 out of the client.

Solution: add scroll functionality to the choose salvage area on the right.

Steps to reproduce the issue
1.) In the SimGameConstants.json file set the "ContractFloorSalvageBonus" value to 20.

2.) Negotiate a contract so that you have at least 8 priority salvage items to pick.

3.) Run the contract to complete it.

4.) At the college salvage screen, notice that you cannot scroll through the priority slots on the right of the screen. When you add the maximum of 7 items, you can no longer add anymore items. And without completing the selection, you can't "confirm" and can't "continue". There is no menu available on this screen, and Escape does nothing, so you're stuck until you force close the application.

You've either changed the values that define loot drops or downloaded and installed a mod off of nexus that did. Reverify your game through GOG/Steam to revert back to an unadulterated SimGameConstants

Not a bug, working as intended, user created error from altering game files.

According to what you just commented upon, you didn't read the bug report, but that's ok, not intended for you to confirm/report anyways. Of course I manually changed the constants file, hence the statement of such.

The problem is that the salvage priority selection area is maxed at 7 items, so even if more is specified, it can't scroll to accommodate it. Worse, it puts the game in a non-continuable mode, where you can't even skip it.

The game is very customizeable, and it's a JSON file that is meant to be tweaked, hence not hard-coded into the client and not saved in a database somewhere. But in this area the client isn't flexible enough to handle some of these value changes. That would be fine if safeties were in place to max priority salvage at 7 regardless of the values in the constants files.

Deep breaths people, please.
As @GUmby_Aaron said, whilst the .json files are easily modifiable, modding is not actually officially supported. The reason it is all in easy to modify .json files was so the devs could quickly and easily change parameters during development without asking for a new build to be compiled every 20 minutes.

What you are asking for is time and money to be spent on a dev altering an aspect (ok a seemingly small one, but every change has the potential to break something else) just because your mod doesn't work. I'm not saying they won't do it, but you can see how other people might view this as a bit egocentric? (Just to clarify, i am in no way saying you are, or trying to insult you. But just that a request like that can be misconstrued in such a way)

In addition to what @TaurianMerc said, some of us still can't even play the game at all because there are some serious flaws in the game that causes crashing. I would sure expect the devs to prioritize issues like ours over "nice to have" features like supporting modded functionality.

There's no mod, it's just a single change in a constants file. And this is just a bug report, not a request to make this some sort of priority in the next release.

Of course they would. What does that have to do with a bug report? Developers will prioritize as needed. It's still a bug (ie: oversight) in the UI.

Too many people taking the game and its development personally. Time to take a step back and let devs do their jobs, whether they decide to log the bug or not and how to prioritize bugs. No need to rush to their defense over a bug report. Gees, what's wrong with the community here? Just move on.

It's not a bug though, the game is working as intended, ie a set maximum on the amount of priority salvage. It was never intended to have more than that amount of salvage, you have yourself admitted to changing, or modifying that maximum beyond what the devs implemented.

This IS a bug because I just completed a mission (assassination) where there wasn't enough salvage and I couldn't continue because I couldn't select enough salvage to continue. I had negotiated max salvage and there were only 4 pieces of salvage when I had to select at least 7. Game is stuck. NOT WORKING AS INTENDED. A very simple solution is to allow players to confirm that they want to continue without filling their salvage slots.

Greetings,

No bickering please. Some posts have experienced jump drive malfunctions to the Far Country.
