I am new to the Battletech Universe, first contact with it was through this game. I was surprised to find out it that the BattleTech universe has existed for so long (about the same as W40K).

So my question is what Battletech books would you recommend for a beginner if any ? I want to know more about the lore and I like info dumps, so that's not a problem for me. If I am to choose I prefer darker, grimmer novels focused more on politics.

Saga of the Gray Death Legion,

Book 1 is Decision at Thunder Rift.

Just finished re-reading Warrior Trilogy because of Battletech.
Missed reading it so much.

Natural Selection, if you're interested in the politics of the Inner Sphere between Tukayyid and the Refusal War. Perhaps Falcon Rising if you want some insight into clan politics.

This is exactly one of the questions I had in mind when I wrote this (answers the question) : https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...t-to-learn-about-the-lore-start-here.1084560/ ... and it's a common question, so there's been a good bit of discussion about it.
