Now I've recently started to play EU: Rome and I'd like to know (because there are so many mods out here and there has been no updates to mod list thread in months) what are the mods that I should get to Vae Victis 2.2 to improve quality of my game?

Welcome to the forums! ;)

It depends on what you expect of course.

At this time, there are no real "complete overhaul" mods, like Magna Mundi for EU3.

- Imperium 2.0, by Descartes, comes closest in this regard. It just might be a work of genius, but it is still in beta (and probably will be for a while). It adds a lot of new graphical touches, and heaps of options -- but if you are a purist this mod might be a bridge too far for you.

If you want to stay closer to the orginal game, I recommend:

- Lofman's Little Mod, by Lofman (of course), mostly adds new features related to warfare.

- Epigoni Mod, by Hardradi, which actually is a combination of his previous work. Adds river trade, wonders of the world, a lot of nations and nation decisons. The focus here lies mainly on the eastern mediterranean and the late Diadochi.

If you want an expanded map, try:

- RIMP or the new Magna Terra (haven't tried these myself though).

There are probably some hidden gems out there too. The community for this game is not the size of EU3's, but it's a friendly and helpful lot.

Have fun!

If I could just add to what Jestocost has said, all of the mods for this game have been made mostly by one or two people (descartes is flying almost completley solo as far as I know), and so they all deserve alot of praise which they don't recieve.

Andy-man, I'm not completely solo. ;)
Anyway, I'd add Wiz' Reign of the Ancients to the list, it looks very good.
Someone should update the Master Mod List btw.

Well, what I am trying to say is, there is no 'team' working on any of the Rome mods, where as something like MMP for EU3 or VIP of Ricky have large groups working on them.

Ok, thanks for answers.

Then another question: Does these mods work together? Last Paradox game I played was HoI 2: Doomsday (with Armageddon) and some mods didn't work well together.

You choose which mod you waant to play from the launcher - so basically they are all seperate and run fine together for the most part
