Thinking about Europe during the CK period, I am wondering who I could play if I wanted to just sit back and watch history go by. There aren't any notables like Nippon or Dakota in Europe at the time. Essentially the whole southern and eastern sides of the map will be too dangerous, as Muslims or Mongols could wreck things for you.

I think the most quiet nation to play would probably be Norway, but I am unsure. On one hand, in the CK world, you don't need to worry about war as much if you are surrounded by christian states. On the other hand, dealing with marrying off family members and the like would make it hard to truly be hands-off.

The most ideal situation would be modding the game so Iceland is playable. I don't think they will do this however :/

what would be the point of such a feature? You can read a book then.

Exactly - while the game is playing you don't have to pay attention to it and can read a book.

Its very valuable for AI testing and scenario design tests. And some weirdos just like to watch... ;)

Yea, yea that's me. Hope they make it in a window so I can peek in and watch.

Depending on who exactly is playable, I imagine that Iceland, or maybe Scotland, would be the quietest nations to play.

I agree, a completely hands-off version would be GREAT to have. Anyone who likes to mod EU2, even if only a little bit, has probably run a HO game.

If, as has been hinted, it is editable to make the Muslim nations playable then perhaps one of those dynasties could be used in a hands-off game. But it sure would be nice to just be able to play a null dynasty or have a game option to play hands-off.:)

A "God mode" would be really nice...I'm not sure if the game engine can support it, but for beta-testing (or for future mods & patches) it'd be highly desirable :)

I don't think anyone from Paradox/Snowball has every hinted that Muslims will be editable to be playable - it's mere speculation.

Actually IIRC, Sergei has... I will try to find it (when I got time later tonight :))

Wouldn´t Navarre or something be pretty good for a hands off?? Not too much of an interference to do nothing and the surrounding aren´t that likely to attack you of the spot.:)

hands-off. thats such a non-issue for the end consumer!

better yet, why not make a hands-off eyes-off feature! oh wait, they did develop it already, its called AAR. :D

in CK there will definately be quiet spots so you dont have to worry about being short in the "observation" section. (navarre was mentioned, albania etc)

btw; did you know there was a military expedition from navarre to albania. saw a film about it ages ago. albania looks freaky! :D

Not for the end-consumer who likes mods. They may not search for games with a hands-off feature, but without hands-off it's very hard to beta-test and mod. I'm fairly positive that some form of hands off is already in, if only for beta-testing. :)
