As the Count of Vermandois, my eldest son stands to inherit Amiens as the latter count is without male issue. During the course of the game, the Count of Amiens has two sons. However, neither of them supplant my son as primary heir. Furthermore, in the child box of the Count of Amiens, the Count of Vermandois's wife is listed first even after the birth of her brothers. Therefore, even after the Count of Amiens has legitimate issue, Amiens is unable to prevent his lands from being inherited by Vermandois.

A save can be posted if necessary.

That has been there as long as I remember. It did not appear in betas.

I'm new here on the forums, but I have been playing CK from the moment it was released. I must confess that I have never noticed this bug (a pretty serious bug in my eyes) until I decided to resurrect the empire of Charlemagne with his true heirs, the Vermandois family. I had arranged a marriage between my son, Eudes, and Agnes d'Aquitaine so that I could inherit all of southern France and subsequently I would be able to oust the Capet usurpers as Kings of France. Agnes quickly produced my grandson, Edouàrd. I then proceeded with killing off all of Agnes' newborn halfbrothers. Suddenly I got a message informing me that Eudes had inherited Amiens and Vexin from Raoul de Valois, who left one son behind, also named Raoul. The inheritance law of Amiens is semisalic primogeniture and as such Raoul jr. should have been the new Count of Amiens and not Eudes.

I have recreated this bug with Berengar, Count of Nürnberg, who has one adult daughter and a grandson. Berengar managed to father a male heir. After using the "die" cheat, the grandson inherited, not my son, the legitimate heir.

I would like to send the savegame, but I don't know how.
I hope someone will tell me. And I also hope that this bug will be fixed in patch 1.06 (apparently rumour has it a patch will be produced) :)

Sorry, I almost forgot to mention that I'm playing the 1066 scenario with patch 1.05.

Funny, I thought it could have been fixed in 1.05 already, since we tracked down why this happened. It's an age thing, that children that are 10 000 (iirc) days younger than their sibling effectively are sidetracked inheritancewise by their older sibling, no matter the gender. This is of course only an issue with semi-salic primogeniture, since age doesn't matter in consa and in salic primo girls won't inherit anyhow.
