Beta 6.20 - New Nations

Just a heads up about what I'll be working on for the next beta.

I have a lot of backlogged material, and much of it is the redesign of certain parts of the world: India, China, the Andes and the addition of Jolof.

Beta 6.20 will be the big bold country redesign beta, incorporating all of these rebuilds. However, this kind of work is painstaking and detailed and will take me a while. So, it might be a couple of weeks before I can get it all done, especially as there are new flag/shield sets to be designed.

I also want to add the optional colonization section, which I couldn't get to work for 6.19 and needs more tinkering.

New material, like mikl's work on the HRE, will have to wait until 6.21

Yes, I'm not to good at the graphics, really. The problem is that the artwork I was sent is low-res.

I'll see if I can find something better.

Just ask in the Grand Request Thread. Hopefully you won't need the sourcepicture. Otherwise, just post it and they will make you a better one.

Hmmmmm. Interesting idea.

Particularly if we can get the HRE (1400-1500) stuff in, it might be worth issuing a 7.01 at beginning of September 2006.

BTW, am I waiting for repaired HRE files, or are you waiting for a rewrite?

we imagine a other religious map of China, without the interdiction in China by Wuzong of all "foreign religions" (bouddhisme, nestorianisme (= orthodox), zoroastrisme, ...)

for example, without this interdiction the nestorians monks would (maybe) converted all the province of Xi'an.

Precisely. The current redrawn map has basically (if I remember correctly) a Nestorian (Orthodox) kingdom, a Bhuddist Kingdom, one Confucian and one Islamic.

Why not beta 7.0 ?

I can't help but wonder why it was beta 1 2 3 4 5 6, and then went on to 6.01. I mean, there's nothing strange about seeing Beta 26 (other than the fact that it looks really wierd...wait).

I guess Beta 7 has a sort of sense of new frontiers.

How about we use equations instead?

beta Y.x -> Y.x+1 = bughunting, some new events...
beta Y.x -> Y+1.0 = new countries, new major events sequences (like reformation one for instance)....

Would be more easy to understand ?

Stronger Bavaria, strong HRE, and if successful in a new crusade against Cordoba, becomes Germania and is torn apart with the reformation, which ebcomes a civil war rather than a Peasants War.

If not successful, then loses HRE, becomes backwater, and Swabia / Burgundy / Savoy Papal States dominate.

Some of this is decided, some discussed and some of that is written.
