Can I please suggest we better integrate public transport networks? I want to have commuter car parks at my train and metro stations. This could be done by pressing a button that'll integrate carparks into train stations, metro stations, and if we eventually get them, ferry wharves, light rail stops and BRT stops. The same should apply for buses. I like to draw buses through exclusively residential areas, It'd be great if I could get them to feed into train stations, and if I could click a button to integrate bus stations into train stations and ferry wharves (and ferry wharves into stations too). That way, bus and trams could BETTER feed into railway stations, metro stations and ferry wharves, as is already the case in real life. From residential areas and small suburban shops, people catch the bus or tram to the nearby train station, metro station, ferry wharf, light rail station, bus rapid transit station.
This would work better with a transit smart card to allow for integrating ticketing, which is far better anyway. because under the current system, you can catch two buses for a distance of less than a kilometre and pay more for a single bus ride spanning kilometres across the entire length of the city- ditto for trams and possibly (to a lesser extent) trains and metros, thus a distance based pricing structure, facilitated by a smart card, is a far better system. That way too, you can set city wide fares (buses and trams $X for Y km, for example)
Thanks!
