Bink hates me

All was well and good before but I got some problem starting up the game now (using latest beta).

If I start it, the screen will turn black then nothing. (then Let's say I ctrl-alt-delete to close it and start again, nothing would happen.) So what I do, is cut and paste the AVI folder out of the EU II. (but leaving the bink.exe because it's still running somehow) Then I wait some time till I get an error from bink because he can't find the files then I cut and paste it out too. Then I can start the game normally.

I've tried leaving the AVI out from the start but if I do this, the game will freeze when initiallizing sounds. So I have to do the whole tedious process each time I wanna play.

Difficult to explain... anyway
Is there something I can do?

Leave the folder where it is, Just rename the whole folder to AVI_back.

What's plan B?
It still freezes at Initiating sounds.

edit: I tried reducing graphical acceleration, trying running the game without music and renaming the folder. It will still freeze.

Well, I may not be understanding the problem.

I would suggest a fresh install, followed by patch 1.07, then the latest beta. Then rename the AVI folder before you have ever launched the game.

I left the bink.exe but deleted the bik files, now after the "can't find files" than the game process to load normally

You should be able to get rid of it!
