When I try to load HOI, the opening movies don't play. I have to hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and close Binkplay. It then skips the movies alltogether and goes straight to the loading of the game. When I actually get into the game, my keyboard commands don't work. Such as, I can't push + or - to zoom in or out, and I can't type in codes when I push F12. This doesn't just happen in HOI, it happens when I play Victoria as well. And it happens every time, its not just an occasional problem. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hello!
Do you use the latest version of the game(s) and DirectX?

So you want to see the game intro? I wonder what happens if you play the files manually.
To test you may play the bik files with the binkplay.exe.
You could try by doing like this:
Use Windows Explorer. Browse to the bik file. Doubleclick on a bik file and associate the bik file extension to the binkplay.exe in the avi-directory.

Thre are other things to do (as seen in this forum, but this could be a nice litle test to start with.

Have you tried to play the bik files separately? That will answer to a few things that may rule out some problems.

Have you changed any Windows display settings? (those should affect both games)

If I understand you correctly you don't care about the videos rather you want your keyboard commands to work.

First let's eliminate the Binkplayer from the equation by renaming the AVI folder.
Also follow these other major problem creators.
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
