Been playing around with the Industries buildings; I decided I wanted to create a custom asset that replaces the various size tree farms with a custom asset that is only a small path "stub" in a 12x12 area, keeping the original map trees that are in the asset's area (and by extension the resource value). The problem is, if I create a custom asset in the Asset Editor it deletes all the trees in the asset area even though there is no building or anything overwriting the space. Is there a setting that preserves the original trees if they don't conflict with a building/road in the asset? I realize I could make the whole thing a 1x1 asset and just increase the extraction range to compensate... feels a little kludgy though. Any advice would be appreciated!

Was hoping to find a solution without mods, but so far haven't turned up anything... Guess I'll just go with Plan B above!
