Blockade

Is there a specific command 'Blockade' somewhere, or do you just park your fleet in the sea area bordering a port with enemy ships in it? Not founding the former I did the latter, as England vs. Scotland and was most chagrined when their 19 ships sailed out of harbor, presumably one at a time in line, and nonetheless defeated my supposedly blockading force of 30.

Along the same lines, is there any way to emulate Drake at Cadiz and attack a fleet at anchor in port? - he asked guessing the answer is 'no'.

BTW, this forum is Fan-F'ing-tastic! I wish other game companies did the same.

1) Fleets in sea zones adjacent to provinces of enemy nations will blockade the ports of those provinces.

Addition to 1

you have to have a rather high naval tech before your aloowed to do a blockade though. Look in the Naval hover mouse help text.

If your blocakde is successful, the anchor symbol in the enemy's port would be replaced by a blockaded symbol (a ship and a cross). O/w, your fleet is either not strong enough or you do not have the necessary naval technology.
