Hi all,
The following screenshots show to you the Bohemian kingdom that I have going in my current CK DVIP setup:

ScreenSave56.gif

ScreenSave57.gif

These images are slightly dated as the year is now near to 1198. The province in the Holy Lands in now a vassalized state and I have one additional province in the far north east, on the coast.

There are a few other small changes to the internal provinces, but this is essentially the state of the state.

My problem is, what now?

I never really intended to extend to the North East or the South East as far as I have. I wanted Kiev, yes. and I conquired the North East because they were the only pagans within easy reach and I needed BB reduction foder.

If I have any other goals, it would be to add the Bavarian realms if only to control the production of beer. ;)

But the gameplay is pretty much vassals break loose, realm duress, beat the vassal(s), force vassalize them but leave the claims alone, and repeat.

I don't think I can keep up interes in this until the end date.

What would you do?

I have been thinking about giving up the SE past Kiev. Solidifying my internal lines so that Kiev is part of a contiguous realm. and then letting some of the NE go as the vassals break free, knowing that I can take them back if need be. The only problemwitht his is that to provide a sure bet, I placed one of my ruler's bloodline in the NE so I could pretty much always generate an army w/o sea transport.

I could try to extend further to the West and South West, but I don't really want to. What I want it so stabilize the realm and then concentrate on placing blood relatives to the NW and SW.

Ideas?

How can you have 8000 golds by year 1135 with a monthly income of 50? :p

Easy ... see the size of his realm ... it includes several good income provinces like Lübeck, Memel and Danzig, as well as many polish and german provinces. At 50 gold per month, it is only 13 years to gather 8000 gold ... not counting what he might get through events and peace settlements.

Only having played as Bohemia in EU1 and 2, but having a good smattering of play as other kingdoms in CK, my suggestions are:

  1. Swallow up the Lesothos
  2. Scheiswig to Skaggerak gobble up
  3. Follow the Dneiper to the Black Sea
  4. Do the Baltic
  5. Bohemian Netherlands

In Swallow up the Lesothos, simply incorporate any counties surrounded by Bohemia - Kaliskie, Krakowskie and maybe (not technically Lesothos), Marienburg and Samba.

In Scheiswig to Skaggerak gobble up, the aim is to take Hamburg, Holstein, Sleisvig and finally Jylland.

In Follow the Dneiper to The Black Sea, you are pretty much linking Bohemia proper to Crimea, by way of the river border. Peremyshyl, Galich, Terebovl and Korsun.

In Do the Baltic, another land linker, just take Lettigallians, Livs and Reval...the coast of the Southern Baltic will be Bohemian then.

In Bohemian Netherlands, the idea is a mass land grab for the area where roughly present day Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg are. You need to have all counties between the Rhine and the Elbe, then add Nassau so it looks nice on the map.:p

I understand, but with the size of the realm, alot of warfare took place (wich costs alot!) and by events, you sometimes gain but also lose alot of golds.

In my game, I am King of Sweden, Denmark and Finland, own about 14 desmenes (some from Sjealland, Holstein , Lubeck, etc.) and earn about 70 / month. Upgrading my provinces + warfare cost me ALOT of golds and I would need about 10-12 years of waiting without any events nor wars to accumulate that much. BTW, I'm in 1128 now :)

Not to say that it is impossible, but really surprising :p
