Warning--end game crisis spoilers below

First off, I'm enjoying the game immensely. Still needs a lot of work, but it's scratching that itch I've always had playing Stellaris (now if we could just do this treatment for Star Wars).

I'm in the midst of the crisis though. Got a Borg queen hanging out at a local highway node. But now I got fleets upon fleets of Borg bearing down on my planets. Earth, Bajor, Vulcan, etc. Every time I destroy a 25k fleet of two cubes another reappears either immediately or the moment I move my fleets. I've destroyed at least five fleets above earth alone. Romulans are gone, Klingons are gone, and Cardasians are barely hanging on.

At this rate, I'll have to consolidate my fleets around Earth to hang on to at least one planet. All my fleets are getting whittled down by the constant barrage/attack by the Borg. For a crisis, this is quite enjoyable on some level--the Borg should be the destructive event we all fight against. But there's no way to build a coalition. What's worse, I can't take care of the hyperlane nodes beyond my warp range.

Is this playing the way it's supposed to?

How easy or hard the Borg crisis is depends entirely on the Pathogen mission. If the Pathogen mission is succesfull then it's too easy and at most you'll have fought a few Borg ships with a few thousand fleet power each. If you fail the mission then it's too hard and you end up with multiple Highway Nodes becoming active and spawning many +30k fleet power ships/fleets that steamroll you.

Ah makes sense. Totally missed that part of the mission and Janeway's now dead. Never even showed up in my mission log...so maybe a bug.

In any event, my game ended in an interesting way. Somehow won by getting the 12 civics while the Borg whittled me down to just five populated worlds. I assume if I kept playing, the Borg would keep coming endlessly since I never completed the pathogen mission.
