The Germans were having some difficulties ruling the world. The Reich was stretched to maintain its vast empire. Over one million soldiers were required to be deployed at all times. Hitler had some theories about racial purity and he was concerned about the pride of the Wehrmacht being exposed to the temptations of foreign born women. The Reich was to large and over extended. The decisions was made to install puppet in various countries carved out of the Axis conquests.

California, Canada, Texas, Romania, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, Pakistan, India, Burma, Malayasia and Indonesia were all created to free up German soldier and to channel resources back to the Reich. The UK was forced to accept harsh terms and disarm, they were also at war with Empire of Japan.
ScreenSave38.jpg

The remants of the Allies such as South Arica, Australia and New Zealand would be forced to fight the Japanese alone.

Suspicious of the communist, Hitler eyes gazed further east, beyond the Urals. Stalin still lived and communism could always return and threaten the Reich. Having secured peace with the Allies and defeating the USA Eurasia would tremble once more to the sounds of battle. The Axis had massed over 200 divisions against the USSR remnant.

ScreenSave42.jpg

The odds favoured the Germans who have the largest army in the world. The Axis could field over 300 divisions, the Germans over 200 all equipped with the latest weapons. The Kriegsmarine rule the waves with dozens of battlecruisers and light cruisers and hundreds of submarines. In the skies the Luftwaffe had thousands of planes, all of the latest bomber types. A few days earlier though a patriotic American was sick of the Nazi cronies installed by the Fuhrer. Shots were heard in Washington DC as the minute American army turned on its pro Nazi regime. From the ashes of defeat can the last democracys arise once again?

Let's see how quickly the AI can bring your Reich crashing down in flames...

You have more IC available than I was expecting, looks like the US is going to be a major power again relatively quickly. I take it the first targets are the secessionists?

Manpower is the problem. Germany gets alot more than I do and has a standing army of several million men. When I left they also had around 3 times as many men in the MP pool and a huge navy. The secessionists are the first target, but I have to fight both California, Texas and Canada at the same time plus Germany as well. I also left around 60 German divisions in Texas and California to make it a bit more challenging hopefully but the AI may move them.

The American ideal, never bowed to tyranny or oppression. Disobeying order the tiny American army marched on Washington DC. The Nazi puppet government was overthrown and democracy restored. Member of the previous administration were released from jail, and the surviving members of the the Hitlerite regime were thrown in jail awaiting trial.

FDR returned to power in a wave of popular support. While convicted to death, the Nazi's never got around to executing for rear of provoking an uprising. Calling for calm in the room the varoius ministers gave their ismal assessements of the state of the Union.

Arthur Vandenburg stood up. As foreign minister he was responsable for what was left of the free worlds opinion of the USA- such as it was. "Thank you for turning up today". "We enjoy somewhat excellent relations with the Axis powers, despite some unpleasant business as of late. I have managed to reassure them that the new government has no mintent of interfering in European matters- even if we wanted to". Due to the previous administrations months in power we have a reasonably dismal relation with the surviing members of the Allies who still harbour bitter feelings towards us. I will try to improve relations via generous trade deals feeding resources to countries such as the UK, Australia, and the USSR". "We are somewhat short of resources however in the enar future we will have to aquire some rare minerals in order to maintain current levels of production.

"Thank you foryour report Arthur" FDR responded. Turning to Morganthau the armaments minister who had to go into hiding during the Nazi occupation he asked. "What is the situation regarding our industry"?

Morganthau stoop up and replied. " Due to the establishment of the German puppet states f Texas and California we are somewhat short of resources". "We have enough to maintain current levels of production, but our stockpiles of rare minerals in partucular will not recover and there is little room for expansion in the future". We have decided to invest in an extensive program of building additional factories. We have also ordered the production of some cruisers for the navy". While not ideal it is all we hare capable of supporting at the moment and they are quick to manufacture". In less than a years time we will be able to deploy a small fleet for coastal defence". Finishing his report it was time for an intelligence report. The new minister was Henry J Kaiser.

"Good day gentelmen" he began. "Due to the destruction wrought in the last war we know very few details regarding the state of the world". "It is commen knowlege the German Reich reigns supreme over the world with a massive army and fleet". " I have ordered that additional funds be made available, and we are trying to aquire blueprints from various soures in the world". "My apologies but right now we are essentially helpless vs foreign agents and have very little ability to operate overseas".

Next up was the Chief of Staff- McArthur. Not mincing words he stood up and decleared "Right now we are screwed". We have no airforce, a tiny army and the navy has a few transports. Overall our strategic situation is hopeless. In the event of war with the Axis we would have to fight a 3 front war against Canada, Texas and California. We have no way to project power anywhere. Even if we had a navy Europe is essentially out of range of our transports and we have no naval bases in the pacific due to the loss of Hawaii, the west coast, and the Panama canal. The Germans haven't been shy in letting us know that they have left around 60 divisions in California and Texas including a large amount of crack mountain troops in the Rockies and an armored corp in Texas, along with several mechanized divisons as well. I recommend we don't start a war anytime soon".

The rest of the minsters had very little to report. The armed forces of the USA amounted to 4 motorised divisons and a single infantry division. The navy consisted of a few transports and very few men were available to recruit into the army. The current government inherited some technology from the Germans and American scientists were currently working on a few projects.

Nice challenge you have here.
Good luck, you'll need it!

Thats what I'm hoping. I suspect I will have to cheese out every advantage I can get from naval and air combat. I can never match the Germans in terms of manpower. THink I will have a very motorised/mechanized army. advice is always welcome as well. I've never had to use cruiser fleets before so I'll see how it goes and I'm gonna try out Cruizerg fleets using lvl V CA and lvl VI CL with fire control as they have the same range. I think I can pump out 3 CA per BC roughly.

New ships were ordered to resurrect the USN. While slightly dated, new cruisers were laid down as they were reasonably quick to produce. R&D promised new developments soon and a alrge % of the research budget was allocated towards developing new models of cruisers. The rest of the USA's resources were spent on expanding the industrial base, building new ports and airfields in the interior of the USA.

ScreenSave52.jpg

Lacking any signifigant ability to influence events, the new government decided to help out where it could. It was decided to undermine the German regime in any way possable. Resources were provided free of charge to the USSR in a revival of the old lend lease program. In an example of pragmatism, shortages in the USA were offset by imports from Germany.

ScreenSave5-1.jpg

The USN reborn- Hitler trembles in fear (one day). The Kriegsmarine outnumbers the USN by over 10-1 in light cruisers by themselves. Even California has a bigger navy thanks to the Germans supplying them with som older model cruisers. Revenge.
ScreenSave6.jpg

Once again Nazi aggression advances across Europe. Hitlers Reich may yet prove victorious although their advance is slowed by the weather. Harsh blizzards and frozen ground greet the Germans in Siberia and central asia.

Such a situation won't last for long.
What do we know about the Secessionist armies ?

According to unreliable intelligence reports from aropund march 45 they can field around 40 divisions between them, with another dozen or so canadian ones. The Germans cann apparently field 443, and 41 armored. IIRC I built around 15 armored, and a similar amount of mech and mot inf. The AI may have been busy over 2 years I suppose.

I see, it won't be easy.
And concerning the airforces ?

will you go north south or west you have so many chosies to make

Karaiskandar
Germans have at least 20 tac bombers, 20 nav bombers, 12 CAS, 4 int + whatever the AI has built. The USAF has 1 CAS, 4 tac bombers, 4 nav bombers, not sure on the puppets but the Canadians have a small airforce.

Small Not sure yet. Texas and California are on the list but I have to deal with California as well and hope the Germans don't intervene to badly.

As long as you have a big enough army to handle the secessionists and a decent Navy you should be safe against the Germans, they will have to cross the Atlantic after all and the AI is awful at amphibious operations.

Rearmament contniued at a frantic pace. In under 2 years the USN had the 4th biggest navy in the world behind Germany, Japan a Italy (Vichy France doesn't count). New cruiser models were deployed under Halsey's command, but the production line was canceled. Sadly however FDR dies and he was succeeded by Truman. By now the JApanese empire had annexed the nations of Australia and New Zealand. Churchill was doing his best to rearm the UK but ever powerful Germany was nearby.

New heavy cruisers were ordered without fire control. It was hoped small fleets of cruisers and lt cruisers equipped with fire control would be sufficient for coastal duties. On land the army reached a strength of over 20 divisions. New equipment was being researched for the army, which was planned to be expanded over the winter of 45. Planswere being made for 1946.....

your IC base is Huge for what you have did the AI build IC or something becase i dont renmber the USA haveing that much IC in 1936 senario imagin what you wikk have with Calafornia and Texas
