Successful Crusades are without fail ruined by a war of independence either started or ended during the end of it. Previously, the crusade for Darum kept ending when the newly independent emir surrendered back into the Shia Caliphate (only overcome by editing their independence war out). Now I'm at a 90% war score against the Shia Caliphate (and they won't accept defeat) only to find that all Christian Crusading armies (there's a lot of them) suddenly decide to shake hands and forget the whole thing because Egypt would like to go it alone...

It's breaking the mechanics of Crusades :(.

Had a similar issue with a Holy War on a Muslim territory. I was right about to take their last holding and get all of Barcelona when they decided to vassilize into a higher power (probably because I had taken their holdings and they had no power anymore). As soon as they vassilized to another Shiekh or Sultan, the Holy War was reset. I lost all my progress, all my allies disbanded etc.

Holy Wars and Crusades should "transfer" to the liege if the liege is NOT the same religion as the crusaders/jihad etc. So even if a Shiite joins a Sunni, they're both muslim, they should still be treated as "Not Christian" for the purposes of ending a crusade.

Thanks for reporting. We are aware of the problem and it is on our todo list, but we are looking for a stable solution until we can promise that it will be done.
