Hello,

So in a previous reply I commented that my machine seemed to be having a problem with Vicky3 bogging down. I addressed this with some better hardware arrangement reducing the temps a few degrees C. However, I seem to still be experiencing BSOD. Here is the error I received:

"Extra information about the problem
Bucket ID: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT_INTERRUPTS_DISABLED_ANALYSIS_INCONCLUSIVE!unknown_function"

It is only happening during Vicky 3 play.

No mods are running.

Card and processor are on default settings.

BSoD are always Windows, driver or hardware problems. If reducing the temperature helped to any degree, you are in the right area! What temperatures are you now seeing in CPU and GPU just before this happens?

Are the BSoD messages always that same one? Or different ones? You can check in the Windows Event Viewer if you have not recorded those.

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/pdx_settings.json .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/crashes/ folder, attach here the latest (only!) exceptions.txt

Thanks for the reply. It’s not heat. My drivers have been up to date since I installed 1.8.6

I’ll provide the dxdiag when I get home.

I can say that the problem is almost certainly related to Vicky trying to migrate to the laptop screen. Let me elaborate:

When I run Windows in “Second Screen Only” or “Extend” mode, Vicky will start on my primary screen(32 in monitor).

If I’m in extend mode, after an inconsistent amount of time, Windows will move Vicky over to the laptop monitor, almost like I changed my primary screen. It will continue to do this over and over until it BSODs.

If I’m in “second screen only” mode, it will try to do the above but it can’t so, the game will be interrupted with the full screen shrinking and expanding every few seconds until there is a BSOD. ( I have to leave the lid open on this laptop model to maximize airflow)

The only other game I’ve seen like this is Warno, but it simply refuses to play on any other screen than the laptop screen unless the lid is closed, and Warno isn’t as demanding as Vicky so whatever.

No other games I’m currently playing have this screen hopping problem.

EDIT: also should comment that if I run the game in “duplicate” mode I have absolutely 0 problems, just about 5-10 fps slower.
