This is a problem that I have been wondering about for quite a while. When playing as Germany, I will be taking on Russia, and generally winning. Suddenly they will unleash a large-scale attack and punch a hole in the front line. After this, they will send small groups of 1 - 2 infantry units running through the gap capturing provinces. I then move to seal off the gap, cutting off all the troops that have rushed through. This, however, does not stop or even slow their advance! They continue marching back towards Berlin at a rate that even my armor cannot catch them effectively, which would (or should) become impossible after a while due to lack of supply. With the added problem of dozens of tiny provinces in Russia, their moves are impossible to predict, and in turn, they start to cut off my front line troops; something that would be impossible in real war situations.
This has always been my biggest complaint with HoI, even though, overall I thoroughly enjoy the game. Would someone be able to tell me if this "superman" attribute of cut-off units is intentional or a bug/issue? I really hope that "HoI 2" addresses this problem and assigns greatly slower rates of movement for cut-off infantry forces, and even a quicker loss of unit strength if cut off (I know that already happens to some degree, but if units with "0" organization are allowed to advance, then what is the point?).
