Excommunication and pagan vassals

The excommunicated trait seems to make your vassals lose loyalty even if they are pagans. And in previous game(1.03 or 1.02) even my muslim vassals lost loyalty because of me being excommunicated and having low piety. Wouldn't muslim vassals rather be more loyal because of that.

But the loyalty problem was solved when the ruler died and his son took over. And it seems that the church had regrets about his excommunication because they canonized him. He did have over 300 piety but still. ->Bug?

For your first problem, no it's not a bug. It's not very logical, but that's the way it works.

For your second problem. Eeer, it's a bug alright, the death by illness + canonized event is missing some trigger, I'll fix it. Thanks. :)
