Apparently youngsters dont lose their squire trait when coming of age. They don't even lose it upon their knights death. The squire trait should disappear when a character whos a squire gets landed. In my latest game I made my son a squire, then I died when he was 13. I wasn't able to knight him because he was still underaged when I died, so he had to remain a squire until he recieved that "too old for squiring" event (which made im depressed ofc).

I've had this too in my Blackwater dynasty playthrough. Except my current guy is like twenty four and still a squire...i've had the 'become a knight' ambition set since he was sixteen...

In late medieval Europe there were people who remained squires forever, so I'm not sure if it should be considered a bug.

Well, people becoming depressed because they are squires post teen age shouldn't happen, according to what you're saying, right?

Also, if the knight you squired for died, how can you still be a squire?

I consider it as a bug because squires can't buy knighthood. Some lord paramounts heir whos a squire wont stay a squire as soon as he assumes power. As it is now, he will, though.
