SWAP BUG !!!!

come on guys ! Years ago I reported the swap bug many times and still it's in this expansion !

And the  is there because I got laughed at years ago by the administrators - insulting me to have misclicked.

I WANT IT HUNTED DOWN !!! GET RID OF IT !!!

I was playing Mathieu de Flandre, I'm king of Portugal. The county of Guines - ruled by Guy de Flandre - revolted, and I easely defeat the guy and I took his castle.

I choose him to be my vassal and I chose also to let him reckognize my kingshiptitle of Portugal.

The result = my kingshiptitle got swapped - with Guy becoming king of Portugal, and I became count of Brugge.

And with Guy - the new king of Portugal - as my vassal !

I checked the game log and it stated that Guy reckognized Mathieu as king of Porgual ...

Please inform me with instructions on how to post the save game - just after this happened.

this is not a joke !

so I have the save game to prove I'm right after all these years.

ps = lucky for me I also choose to vassalage the count of Guines - so now he has swapped to my kingship title and he is my vassal (I'm count of Brugge). Grace to the new option "force vassalage" you can really see the titles were swapped.

I reloaded the save game and it reloaded as the count of Brugge that has the king of Portugal (former count of Guines that swapped my king title) as vassal. And the reload worked all right ...

to who do I send this - or what procedure do I follow?

I think this is one serious bug - and I'm sure it happens between dynastical members under some conditions.

Happened to me too, playing as HRE, against a bishop who had a claim as king of Germany - told him to recognize me as the king, and to become my vassal.

The log says he recognizes me as the legitimate king of Germany, yet I become the king of Bohemia, and I get the king of Germany -the erstwhile bishop - as a vassal. Had to get back to a previous autosave, then just ask for vassallization.

send the save file to the email adress - hope it can help :)

Old autosave, didn't keep it... However, if it helps, I'm pretty sure that I didn't have any claims on them, they only had a claim on my king title and nothing else - the AI DOWed me...

probably with full knowledge of this bug! :)

well it's the save file after the swap happened - so the count of Brugge has the king of Portugal as a vassal - because besides the swap I also forced him to become my vassal,

and that's the proof the bug exists and they should look for a solution.

Got it! :)

In this game, even when at war with me, Treviso was still a faithful vassal of one of my dukes, but I'm fairly sure that when it happened before, the swap-happy count wasn't part of my realm - I might be remembering it wrong, though.

Here's the screenshot of the king of Germany swapping titles with the treacherous count of Treviso...

& I've got the game saved just before I ask for peace. Works 100% of the time. All I need to do is recognize Berthold as the count of Treviso & demand him to recognize Heinrich as the king of Germany. Lucky for me I had a few more king titles to fall back on... :p

I'm sending a copy of the savegame to paradox, hopefully they'll figure out what went wrong...

Can you just type "byzantine" in the console and revoke the new king's title?

Well, I suppose I could. Then again, there's a perfectly good autosave just a couple of clicks away. :D

As long as I don't ask Treviso to drop his claims on Germany, everything works as it should.

All the same, I'd rather the bug wasn't there in the first place, so I could force Treviso to drop his claim via the peace settlement...

Thanks for the tip though!

I've seen this bug in vanilla CK before. I was very confused and assumed I must have clicked wrong but reloaded from a savegame and was able to reproduce it. I probably should have posted about it here :(

Finally I managed to get this bug as well. Actually it was the first time I ever did this combination of vassalization + forcing a recognisning of King title. Got swapped so my Kingtitle ended up with this bishop and I was reduced to my second title (a duke title).

Annoyed with that, I did reload from the autosave and choose another option instead so I haven't any evidence in form of a savegame. This was btw with DV and the 2.1 beta patch.

I had this happen differently. As a French duke, I rebelled against my king for specific purposes - to get a few counties - and when I won, my terms were that I would submit as a vassal and get the land. Instead, he was forced to submit to me as my vassal, and I became his superior. He kept his kingtitle, I kept my duketitle, and he became part of my duchy as my vassal. It was easy to fix with a savefile edit, but wow.
