bug, message unwanted string attached

Hi
i try to play crusader king, i have just installed it on my new pc with all specs ok and i have this message coming up while loading on the bottom status bat, unwanted string attached......how can i fix it ?

Sounds like you have something has gone wrong with your install. Better to completely uninstall and then re-install everything.

Before you go and do the same thing again, which would lead to the same problem.

Lets take a look at what and how you are doing things.

What patches and what order are you installing them?

For all others who might be experiencing the same problem:


When you get the message "UNKNOWN STRING WANTED" everywhere instead of any text, this is usualy an issue with the installer. I have seen it happen when you install the English Version of CK on a Portuguese WindowsXP.

What you do to remedy this:

1) Uninstall the game completely
2) Go into the Control Panel to "Regional and Language settings" and set the them to "English"
3) Install the game and apply any patch you would like to apply
4) Return your "Regional and Language settings" to whatever you had before, usually Brasilian

Note: There is no need to have the Language settings on English for the installation of Patches or updates. The issue is strictly with the installshield which is included on the CD.
