Bug or feature BB when enemy gov collapse

Yesterday the government of France collapsed after being at war with various countries for more than 20 years. At the time, they were at war with me playing Portugal, Spain and various other nations. I controlled the Berne province in France and several French minor colonies (< 200 colonists) around the world. When the
collapse happened the ownership of these provinces changed to me . That seems like a feature. BUT my badboy rating
did not go up. It was 23 before this happened and 23 after. If I had won these provinces in a peace treaty my BB rating would have increased by several points. Is this a bug or is it a feature? Just wondering..

Might very well be a feature as via that system of goverment collapse u can also get more than the standard 3 provinces.

i don't think it is a bug, in the general forum there is a thread of nasty tricks and this in one: to cause a government collapse and then get territory by default. This has happened to me as well, except i was the one with the fallen government. The first time the turks were overrunning my poor hungary and rebelling insued due to bankrupcy the turks got croatia and serbia. the second time i was the subject of a combined austrian, russian, polish, venetian, french, and spanish attack (i don't know why my bb was not big but i just inherited brandenburg) my government fell and reformed but not one of my four captured provinces changed hands. the war was called off and they went home. I think that a government change might decrease your bb, but i have not checked this out.

Only one European province & a lot of ROTW (probably 0BB) colonies ...

My guess would be that you should get 1 BB point (though I havn't checked).

BTW what dates are those savefiles from anyway ?
It might have gone up to 24 and dropped back to 23 again if there was a turn of the year between them.
