Good evening.

Through the process of sheer chance, my Pirate Kingdom of the Stepstones was inherited by a Septob believer. Things changed accordingly, with two primary glitches. The first was that existing Pirate Dens were deleted and not restored on the accession of a new Pirate. In other words, thousands of pieces of Gold just vanished.

The second is what I am asking about now. When the Seven believer ascended to the Pirate Throne, the Septon Crown Laws were added.

The problem is that they are all completely grayed out. When I mouse over the lowest version ("Minimum Religious Authority" or "Lawful First Night"), it says I don't meet the qualifier of having "Low Religious Authority" or "Unlawful First Night", respectively. Basically, I am shut out from all choices and I cannot aspiring a Septon because of it.

I'm also annoyed that religions that encourage fornication and hedonism get negative religious malus, especially the one that worships a fertility goddess! -and pirates hating drunkeness? Pirates hating drunkeness?! I'll ask about that another day.

Actually, pirates hating the "drunkard" trait isn't so bad; my interpretation of that trait is that your character becomes an alcoholic, to the point at which it interferes with day-to-day functioning.

Pirates might enjoy a party, but they really don't want their leader/helmsman to be drunk while he's planning an assault or steering the ship into a rocky harbor.

Agree about the other complaints, however.

Okay, that does make total sense. :)

That is just how buildings work in CK2 I'm afraid, if they are no longer valid they will be removed.

Problem noted

There is no way to mod this with custom religions unfortunately. Although I agree with rubidium, it drunkeness might not be so appealing :)

my experience with playing pirates is that it is very buggy unfortunately. As king I regularly lost vassals (dukes / counts) for no reason. One minute they would be a vassal and the next minute they would be independent, I could never figure out why.

They might have had a rebellion and lost in which IIRC they go independent.

That should be fixed then, if they rebel (as a count against their duke) they should still be vassals of the pirate king. That's how it works in vanilla and in the historical immersion mod, I think it would be a better system. I loved playing as pirates but I hated that mechanic and couldn't continue as it kept happening to me so much.
