Bug, USA doesn't react, neither does AI

I'm playing as the USSR, fresh game after the patch, and the U.S. will not react to any of my moves. It's been one year, and most of the world is leaning towards me. I'm not doing much either in terms of theaters or anything.

Also, the AI doesn't seem to research much. As the USSR, I have a huge edge technologicaly and military wise over the U.S.. All game options are set to default, so I have no "advantages."

I can beat the game within 2 years.

I'm experiencing the same thing from the side of the U.S. Within a year i'm very far ahead in research and pretty much dominate the cold war.

so will this be balanced in the next patch? I hope so.

It's strange, some games the other supoerpower goes nuts grabbing everyone for their sphere, and some they fall apart on their own without any shoving from me. I'm beginning to wonder if they're going something in the latter games, like assassinations or something, which are pushing people away from their sphere instead of towards it.

I'm seeing a lot of US allies leaving their sphere in my sandbox game as Australia, while the Soviets are gaining in their sphere just fine. Dunno if the AI for the US is doing anything.. or even if they're doing something diplomatically negative?

Also, who's winning the Space Race? It seems like progress in the Space Race can have global sphere implications.
