Summary

bugged and permanent Measles

Description

My character, and other AI rulers, are afflicted with permanent Measles which are not treatable by the court physician. So far my character has had it for over 5 years. It appeared to be triggered by the "Alms" event from my court physician.

Steps to reproduce

Have an outbreak in your realm (whether this is Measles only or other diseases as well, I don't know), have the court physician event involving "Alms" to an afflicted area, then accept the giving alms option. This resulted in my character being infected with measles, but the disease was not treatable by the physician, and never went away. Seems to have happened to the Ai emperor of the HRE as well. (edit: I got the event to fire again, with smallpox this time. I didn't catch the disease as it's a 15% chance, so can't confirm if it happens for smallpox, too)

I was able to reproduce this bug with a subsequent character, after the initially infected character died after having untreated measles for over 20 years. It's definitely the "Alms" event causing the untreatable, permanent infection. So far I've only seen it happen with measles, but it's only a 15% chance to infect, so not easy to reproduce.

I also found this bug will working on adding a new disease to one of my mods. The culprit seems to be that measles (along with ergotism and dysentery) are missing from the has_treatable_disease_trigger in 20_health_triggers.txt (see attached image).

I also noticed that measles is missing from the has_low_health_penalty_disease_type_trigger (while ergotism and dysentery are missing from the has_high_health_penalty_disease_type_trigger) in 20_health_triggers.txt (see the other attached image).

I'm having the same issue. My ruler caught Measles earlier when the plague affected my capital. He recovered within about a year. He caught Measles again as a result of the Alms event, and now he's had it for over four years.

Aside from the critical health penalty, Measles is preventing me from hosting any activity or revoking any holy order lease.

Had the same happen when my ruler got Smallpox from this event. She lived for decades without ever getting cured (or getting other diseases, no matter how many times I sent her to infected provinces).

This issue is happening to me, too. It is from the same "Alms" event with the 15% chance of contracting the illness. But it isn't just measles or smallpox, it is also typhus, as I've had it happen with all three. I suspect it will happen for all diseases through the alms event.

It must only be the alms event because I see other characters being treated for illnesses and recovering, but most of them would be naturally contracting it and not receiving it from the event.

I hope this issue can be looked into and fixed, soon, because it really sucks not being able to host or join events or even hold court or do anything for decades until character death.

Interesting, I wonder if it blocks contracting new diseases, too? I haven't caught anything since perma-measles and the same was true with my perma-typhus.
