I was just doing a bit of micromanaging in my Polymer production dome, primarily concentrating on kicking unskilled workers out of the smart homes I wanted my engineers to use, and it suddenly hit me: what I wouldn't give for a filter to do this manually.

I feel the same way about my night shift workers: I want my composed workers working that shift, not the relatively laid back day shifts. Being able to set up filters for individual buildings or individual shifts, like we can do with domes, would go a long way towards reducing the micromanaging that inevitably happens in this game.

It would be great if we could have an "AI" to help us manage this.

  • If building has all shifts open and there are not enough workers to fill all slots, do not spread workers evenly but first fill the day shifts, then the night shift. (Maybe not for service buildings, but for production it makes a lot of sense)
  • Automatically fire a worker with low sanity to avoid breakdowns, do not allow workers with low sanity to work night shifts or out-dome buildings (unless they have Martianborn resilience) unless manually assigned
