Buying Finland

In my first game as Sweden, I feel that I want to get Finland back from Russia. I saw a post in some thread that this could be done, but now I need to know if there's an event to wait for that lets me buy the whole of Finland at once or if I just need to spend enormous amounts of money on retrieving Finland piece by piece (as I cannot buy more than 5 provinces at a time).

There is no event to purchase Finland so you'll have to do it the old fashioned way, which is 5 provinces at a time. To save some cash you could always drop a tech or two in with the deal, assuming you have high prestige, because Russia is more or less always behind in technology. Just make sure you have +200 relations and it shouldn't be too hard to do.

Yeah, thats what I figured. Gonne be very expensive, but it will have to work.

Also, keep in ming that the higher badboy you have the more the price will go up.

Also, there are two provinces that Russia has cores on, so it's ridiculously expensive to get those. One's an Island between Finalnd and Sweden, and the other begins with a V. (It was lost after the Winter War in real history.) So you will have to go to war for those unless you can manage raising millions for each. The Crimean War is usually a good time to do that.

You can always neville Åland to Sweden, since its unrealistic for Russia to claim it.
