Go to Doomdarks website, there should be a link in the 'My own homegrow EU patch' string. Also, if you want ancient Byzantium, ask McGuinn, hes the guy to talk to, I know he has the shield at least.
Didn't Greece become a country a shade under 50 years after the game ends? Mid 19th Century? I 'spose you could use them in fantaasy scenarios.
In the scenario we speak of, Greece is there as a 'possible' country which can come into existence through successful revolts - like e.g. the United States. That´s not fantasy.

There are a number of countries that could possibly revolt in EU that did not exist at any point during 1492-1792. For example, Ireland, Norway and Provence can become independent. The reasoning (I believe) is that although these countries did not gain their independence, they COULD have given the right situation.
It is plausible that Greece and Novogorad could have broken free so this is consistent with that reasoning. OTOH, Australia or Quebec or even Finland would seem unlikely.

Nope, but I'm working on it. Doing the Byzantine shield and flag is not very easy. I first did one shield simply using the flag design. Now I've added a couple of variations. Have a look at my website: http://uk.geocities.com/jw_mcguinn

Hey McGuinn, yor shields and troops are really great, are they implemented in Doomies/Hartmann's Patch?

The shields and flags are in the patch. I'm afraid the soldiers are just for decoration. You can however create your own army graphics, but then you'll have to replace one of the existing sets. But there's so many frames of animation to change, I don't even want to think about it.

I'm really surprised McGuinn, as I have seen all the flags you have edited on your page.
The Byzantinum Shield I greated looks like your first so I think that is the best grafic you can use. And by then way your Pommerania download doesn't work.

Cheers A3. Well, Hartmann had a lot of problems dl the Dai Viet zip, but he managed to get after a few tries. I'm not sure what's causing the problem?

i support the necessity of ensuring that the basileus can revive within the scope of the game . . . if burgundy, provence and brittany can there is NO reason why byzantium (romania) oughtn't
