i.m playing byzantium and i got all renecance NP, all of slavonic cultures, and the rest of the balkan, and i was wondering since i'm that large should i not be able to claim roman empire or something to get italian or arabic np? or is this totalt onrealistic?

the EEP version of Byzantium already has Italian Culture.

P.S. watch out for spelling errors They have a nasty habit of attacking ones posts from the flanks

Totally unrealistic. You can go and declare war, why should people there (mostly muslim) be happy to see you as their ruler?

I think that Byzantines should be able to reclaim Roman Empire but should face the strong oppostion from Muslims. I propse that if Byzantines is able to entire Levant, Asia Minor, and Egypt then they should be able to convert muslims, maybe not until the capture of Mecca. Of course, you will have Islam world unites against you (Muslim League), I mean that Muslim leage should be in fact one country until acheive the goal the break up. Anyways Byzantine will never be able to get Arabic culture but they could expels the muslims and make those lands into Greek.

I think I seen some events that give Byzantium Arabic culture. And they also get events to convert lots of provinces without having to spend money on missionaries.

It would probably be alot better if the lands were converted to Greek rather than to give Byzantium Arabic culture. After all, these lands were held by Greeks at one time, starting with Alexander the great, and some Greek enclaves probably still existed.

That's true, but on the other hand I think this should also apply to the Ottomans. The Ottomans get Thrace and Smyrna converted to Sunni Islam for free. They should get the culture change, because there is no other way for cultures to change except through events, but there are missionaries so they shouldn't get free religious conversions.

At the very least, the religion of those provinces shouldn't change overnight. If it took years to happen, it would be more realistic.

Cause it happened historically, while resurrecting Byzantium never happened. You can imagine events, of course, but why make things easier?
