Has a concrete date been set for the end game in the mod, or is it still up for discussion, I thought that maybe a finish closer to 1948-1950 may open up some very interesting possibilities.

Regarding time: nope. The CORE forums being down don't help a whole lot, I'd imagine!

Regarding 1948 - 1950; me too, some cool crap happened around this time, but apparently what's-his-name says there will be no time extension. Fair enough.

CORE will only be for the standard HoI2 time period. We will not be supporting the NTL mod, nor will we be modding to allow for it. Sorry folks.

I think thats a very fair policy towards the NTL issue.

are we gettting close to the first release yet?

well, in a philosophical point of view we are getting closer - since there WILL be a release in the future, so we are getting closer to it. If you mean "is the release iminent in the next days or weeks" then the answer is No one knows/we will see.

Killing me you guys are absolutly killing me........keep up the good work

Time is always a conceptual thing. In so far that its a dynamic, so therefor CORE could be released tomorrow, if time is viewed correctly.

erm, wait a second, are you saing your going to have a mod that the NTL patch wont work on?

Why not just allow us to use it if we want it? Or does it cause a lot of difficulty?

I had many a great game with NTL and CORE in HOI1 -.- Hope its not going to be incompatible.

I was going to say that...

I think what he meant was that CORE is not supporting NTL, but we can put it on if we want to seperatly. I think.

Too bad, it is just in every game I've played vanilla HOI2 as Germany, I grind the Eastern Front and I don't subject the Soviet Union untill i'm well into 1946, which allows no time for any global expansion, considering it takes a year JUST to get those same troops back to the fatherland. With such an extention, you could have the eve of the cold war, Warsaw pact, Marshal Plan, East/West Germany and many other ahistorical scenarios...

You'll just have to get better ;)

EDIT: The stuff you suggest still applies to the current timeperiod, however, should the game reach a more or less historical ending, but unhistorically early.

On the NTL: We won't support it as far as additional techs or event for the post-1947 period, but I don't imagine any particular problem installing it on top of CORE (compared to vanilla) if you would like to do so on your own accord. Should you experience problems with the game after installing it we won't really be able to help you a whole lot, if the prolems occur in that timeframe.

Not the case at all. CORE will work with the NTL patch, but will not be designed for use with it. Basically, CORE will only cover the vanilla game time frame, and nothing beyond that. You should feel free to use both as you wish. However, we will not be supporting anything that deals with issues arising from use of teh NTL patch. You use it at your own discretion and risk.

Exactly. This has been policy since CORE1, and is not going to change.
