so we saw that a cadet coat of arms (CoA) can be formed as a combination from the mother dynastic CoA and the cadet branch founder guy main landed title.

I'd also like to see a cadency system form of CoA bringing up some variety and realism.

What are your feelings about this?

Seems like they are quartering the father's coat of arms with the mother's, which works if they limit the creation of cadet branches to one sibling per generation, which seems to be the case as the creation of cadet branches seems to be difficult.

Also, the whole thing Leofwine Godwinson is wronghis. He shouldn't be a duke (the first duchy created in England was in 1337), earl. Also, giving him his own house, is questionable, considering he didn't have any children, you'd think having children would be a minimum requirement for forming a cadet house, otherwise you'd end with many of these one generation cadet branches.

I like the idea of the children of the household head having marks of cadency added to their arms, separate from the ability to choose/create a set of arms when forming a cadet branch. Not a huge priority, but it would be interesting.

Thinking about it, the best option to represent the diversity in traditions in Europe might be to have a "law of arms" tab/menu where the player can set how cadency (and impalement/quartering) works in their realm if they have a high enough rank and enough renown. At the start date, the existing realms can be set as close to their historical tradition as practical.

The whole earl/duke thing is mostly wrong in the CK era and most characters who now start as dukes should really be earls/counts.

100% agree! Cadency markers are a must!

Arms ought to be blazoned correctly with the arms of women being displayed in a lozenge.

There should be options for a title to fall into abeyance when a male line ends until such time as a sole heir through a female line is settled.

Deceased characters should have hatchments, or at least blackened arms.

Cadency would be a nice flavour addition for sure.

The earl thing is complex; its precursor the "ealdorman" was translated as dux in Latin texts, however, during the 11th-century Dane rule mutated it to "earl" inspired by jarl. When the Normans took over England they ousted every earl in England and invested their new vassals with a new type of earldom, which was more akin to continental countdom.
