Can a landless character not back out of asking for a marriage from a patron?

I get a favor from my patron, click on the marriage option, which says they will accept, but then I look at the available men/women and there are no good options or the patron won't agree to it, I back out of that screen yet I still get the opinion modifier and cannot ask for anything else. This is kind of frustrating, I basically wasted the favor for nothing in return.

Just imagine this:
You have a breakfast and then some dirty nobody asks for an audience and makes a bold request. You have to gather all men/women of your court but dirty adventurer doesn't like any of them and just leaves.

You used the favor to ask for potential marriage, they agreed to show candidates, then you just left. You wasted your patron's time and if you didn't like the candidates then this is your problem.

That is how I see it.

This interaction is terribly designed

You should be able to use the request with the mariage interaction (like a hook), and not before

At least we should not be able to use it if the ai ruler will not accept in any way, like with the -1000 debuff for hostile faith


Landless adventurer is a nice feature added but it's like royale court, it's totaly abandonned now and won't probably get any improvement in the future

Yeah it's one thing if I am in fact a "dirty nobody" but it's another thing if I'm a prince or the rightful claimant to a throne or something. Like if my character was an unlanded courtier of his king brother he could marry any woman in the world but since he's roaming with his merry band of adventurers spreading the word of the lord or something suddenly all he can marry are commoners (who agree 100% of the time for some reason).

There should be a hit to acceptance for being a wanderer for sure but wanderers from good families should still be able to secure decent marriages.
